Real Madrid and Barcelona have dominated the league for decades. Between 2000-01 and 2025-26 Barcelona have won 13 titles and Real Madrid nine, with Valencia (2001-02, 2003-04) and Atletico Madrid (2013-14, 2020-21) also champions.
Barcelona's 2025-26 title was their second in a row. They had 91 points to Real Madrid's 77 after 35 matches, when the table at hand was published, and the season ended on 24 May 2026.
